So right now I'm at "work." I'm actually just sitting at a computer in an empty computer lab searching the net and reading for my West. Civ. class. There isn't a whole lot to do here; I'm supposed to help students with any problems they may have, which means basically helping them log in on the computers and log in on their Highland stuff.
To tell you the truth, I really have no idea what to do or how to help someone, but I have a feeling I will probably just wing it like I always do... :)
Hopefully no one asks a really hard question...
If any of my Highland friends read this, you should stop at the lab when I'm working so I have someone to talk to. Plus, it's quieter than the library in here... We could definetely get some homework done later in the semester, when we actually have homework... :)

Celebrate. Celebrate. Come On & Celebrate!
Turns out the day DID did get better, my gramma just told me she's getting married!!!!
Her first husband passed away when I was in 4th grade and this guy, Wayne, who she's been with for like a year or two was her high school sweet heart, or something, but they weren't allowed to get married because it would have been a mixed marriage...but not between races (as I would think most people would think), it was a mixed marriage between religion. She was a lutheran and he was a catholic; therefore their parents wouldn't allow them to be married and they were forced to break up. Somehow, several years down the road, after both of them had a grown family (with several grandchildren) and both their sposes had passed away, they found each other. It seems like they didnt miss anything between them, like they picked up just as if they were never apart! Although I am more than happy for both of them, this makes me think about a few things...
1. If they seem to love each other so much after all these years, did they ever really love their sposes? Did my gramma ever really love my grandpa? He passed away when I was so young that I don't know what their relationship was like... I'm assuming that they did love their sposes but not as much as they loved each other...but I guess I really don't know...
2. They plan to get married after the new year (for tax purposes) but I think gramma would move out as soon as the house sells. No one knows when or if the house will sell, so all that is up in the air. Obviously, if gramma moves out, so do I... that means I would have to move back home and either spend gas money coming to and from Freeport everyday, or try to find an apartment to move into! I really don't know what to do and there isn't anything we can do until the house is sold. Gramma says that houses around here are not selling very well, there are probably about ten houses for sale right now in this development. However, I have a feeling gramma will do everything she can to sell this house... But what does that mean for her loving grandaughter...?
3. What will happen at Christmas? Will the whole family go to her "new" (Wayne's) house? That would be wierd... I don't really know Wayne...
4. What is Wayne's family to me? Considering he would be like my step-grandpa, does that mean that his children and grandchildren are my step-aunts and uncles and step-cousins?
5. Gramma just told me she's going to bed...its 7:41! WTF?!
6. Ok, so 5 doesnt really have anything to do with this...and I guess that means either does 6... whatev
:)

1 School Day Done
Ok, so I was WAY more nervous than I should have been.
Highland is a breeze. I'm not worried at all. I'm really glad the first day is done. Although, tomorrow I have to go in to work at HCC in the computer lab at 8! I don't know about you, but that is WAY too early for me, this means I have to wake up at like 7 or EARLIER!! AH!
I will suck it up though because all I have to do when I get there is sit at a desk and help people log in, but my boss says they don't get a lot of people coming in anymore so there is a lot of time to do homework, so that is AWESOME. I'm really excited about it. YAY.
I have two classes where I don't know anyone: Rhetoric & Composition I and Calculus I.
Great.
Anyway, so the first day was awesome and that's good. The Cubs don't play today so I guess the day can't get any better ;)

School in minutes
I have class at 9:00 and it's 8:14 now.
I'm dressed and ready, I think. Gramma woke me up at 7 when I told her last night I didn't need to be up till 8...and I could wake myself up; however, Gramma woke me up anyway and said that she had oatmeal waiting for me so how could i refuse. Damn that gramma...she's good. :)
I'm just trying to get rid of all of my jitters that are inside me right now, trying to just calm down, I really dont think it's working, crap.

School Tomorrow, wtf
Ok, so here's the living situation for this fall, well all I know so far, it could change easily.
I am planning to live with my gramma who lives in freeport already so that will be really handy; I have already moved most of my stuff in (which is only clothes and a few pictures). Today my mom took me to Wal-Mart to get me other stuff I will need (toiletries and food so that I dont impose too much on my gramma). I hope that the bed i sleep in will be comfy enough to allow me to sleep happily at night and not make me wish i was at home. I have a feeling I will be homesick (which is completely pathetic because I am only 30 mins away and I know that a lot of my friends are hours away from theirs, but I cant help it)
I cannot believe I am starting a new chapter in my life, college. How did I get here. Oh wow, do I miss high school already. I already miss my friends who have known me since birth, I am definetely going to miss my small town atmosphere. Ok stop talking about this, Sam. You are only going to get more upset...just stop. Ok. Stopped
I am scared about tomorrow, I don't know where my classes are; I only know what buildings they are in, which my mom says is all i need to know because it is so small but that really doesnt help. I just hope I dont make a fool of myself looking for classes.
However
I am excited to be able to start over, be the person I beileve I can be. I have a fresh start, maybe this time I won't screw it up and cause people to hate me. Wow, that sucks, being hated i mean. Not gonna think about it though....not thinking about it. Good. Good job.
Well i guess i still have stuff to pack and my mom...well my siblings' mom...is making lasagna tonight at 7 which mean i have to pack everything in an hour so that i will be ready to leave after i eat.
Promise i will explain later about my confusing family, although most of you who read this already know whats up, but i really just like to talk about it :)
Soooo glad the Cubs won...

Cubs are really pissin me off right about now
So yesterday was Russell's big "birthday party extravaganza," as my sister, Erin, calls it... she's a little odd...but i'm so much like her in so many ways...
I was really upset that i couldnt make it to all of it becuase i had dumb stupid work (this is exactly why i didnt want to work all summer, so i wouldnt miss any fun that was going on, and then THIS happens, how could I be so unlucky, it wasn't fair!!!!)
But i spose i did get paid to read by book, again, so that wasnt entirely horrible AND i guess it was good that i didnt go bc i missed out on canoeing and the group of ppl who were invloved were all...couples. So, im REALLY glad i missed out on that so it didnt make me feel more lonely than i already do on a daily basis, that may sound ... idk, like im trying to make myself feel bad or make others feel bad for me, but thats not true, it really is honetly how i feel. ANYWAY, no more talk about this.
Back to me being pissed, haha. I really wish i could have been there for the whole day, be there for my big brother, but nope, fuckin work, always there, im never going to escape that!!! AH!!
Cubs cannot beat the fuckin Florida Marlins, kill me now

Second entry, First day (wow, I'm going to be doing this a lot aren't I...)
Leslie & I went to Freeport so I could move my stuff into my gramma's house because I will be living with her while I attend HCC. Anyway, Les and I went to Taco Bell and we had an AWESOME time because we saw this girl who was with a couple of skate-boarding boys (they were probably like 13 or something) and the boys walked out without the girl so she was forced to grab all of these bags that they had...but she forgot one, and we realized this about 5 mins before she did, we could see them all outside talking and we could see her looking for her other bag...oh man, it was funny. We see one of the boys walk in, we assumed to grab the bag, but nope, he grabs a skateboard that we didn't even see from off the floor... wow that was funny too. Eventually the girl comes back for her bag, we were laughin' like crazy.
Then we realized that the TB workers are always walking around, like coming in and out from behind the counter, we have no idea what they do the whole time but they are constantly moving. So, when we were leaving we saw a guy worker, NOT behind the counter, stand with his shoulder against the wall with his head down, I assumed he was texting but Les thought he was just leaning there.... doubt it, but hey, I guess it wouldn't be the first time Les was right and I was wrong. When we walked outside we thought it would be over but nope, we saw two TB worker girls standing my the dumpster smoking. That was histerical. We definetely thought it was over now, but then as we drove by the girls smoking, we saw ANOTHER girl...wow, so funny.
None of this is probably funny to anyone else reading this...besides Leslie. (oh, by the way, when I am texting or writing on the computer, I use "Les" instead of "Leslie") I never call her "Les." It's wierd, I know. Deal.

First entry, First day
So I guess this is a blog...
Well I guess will start off this first blog with a description of what I plan to write in the future so that those of you who read this first one will know whether or not you want to continue...let me tell you, I'm not the most interesting person you will meet. So anyway, I hope to write about how my day went, how I feel about it, future events, family, and how the Cubs did. Like any other blog, I'm assuming, this is like a diary, so that is how I will treat it. Hopefully I will remember that anyone can read it and won't talk bad about anyone...but we all know that that is part of being a human, talking about other humans.
Today is...well i guess you can just read the date of this blog so nevermind about the date.
Samantha Brunner is my name, but you may call me Sam, as most people do...I have convenietly listed the other nicknames people call me, to my face, as the title of my blog page (I guess that's what you would call the big box at the top of my page). I am going to be a freshman in college attending Highland Community College and I will be playing basketball there. I hope it's going to be fun. All summer I kind of thought about how much I wasn't going to like it and how I won't play next year, but we just had a meeting and I think I will really enjoy it, so that's good. I am only taking four classes at HCC: Intro to Ecology, Western Civilizations, Calculus, and Rhetoric & Composition I. I was going to add another class, Spanish, but that would just complicate my making money time, so that's not going to happen.
Yesterday I went to my cousin's house for an "Olympics Party." (those cousins were the Hills', if any of you know them... well, you know how much fun we had, although they are a little bit crazy, they fit in perfectly with the rest of the family :) and i love them ) Anyway, Nastia won the Women's All Around, which was really the only thing I wanted to watch besides Michael Phelps (but who DOESN'T want to watch him?) but of course the All Around wasn't untill about 11:00 so that sucked!! I got there at about 7 because that's what time the olympics started, but oh no, not the All Around...gr. I was not happy, mainly because I was really tired by this time and almost fell asleep several times. However, I had a lot of fun, just like I always do with the Hill boys. We spend our time making up stupid games and laughing constantly, I wouldn't trade the time I spent with them for anything in the world! I hope they know how much I love them!!!
I just realized how much i will be writting in this blog, not just every entry, but how many times I will do it daily.... I'm really sorry for anyone who reads this, haha.
Cubs play at 6:10. Yesterday Aramis Ramirez got hurt, that's not good.
